Many Leeds United fans have been responding to a tweet that was recently posted by Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul.
The midfielder was linked with a move to Elland Road back in the summer transfer window and even indicated that he was keen on the move himself via Twitter, though the transfer ultimately didn’t materialise.
The Argentine quote-tweeted a post from @WhoScored which shares that he was the top-performing midfielder across Europe’s top five leagues this past weekend based on his match rating.
De Paul earned a stellar match rating of 9.21/10 from the stats website for his performance in Udinese’s 1-0 Serie A win over Genoa at the weekend. He scored the only goal of that game, while he also took more shots (five), completed more dribbles (five), made more key passes (two) and made more tackles (five) than any other Udinese player.
So, how did these Leeds United fans react to De Paul’s tweet acknowledging WhoScored’s recognition of his impressive performance at the weekend?

One particular Leeds fan took this opportunity to praise De Paul, referring to him as an ‘absolute baller’, while many other Whites fans called for the £27m-rated man to join Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the January transfer window.

While Leeds didn’t end up signing De Paul in the summer transfer window, it’s clear from these replies to the 26-year-old’s tweet that plenty of the Yorkshire club’s fans still hope to see him end up at Elland Road.
