@OscarMarrio of All Leeds TV has been discussing the club’s defeat at the hands of Leceister City on Monday night during a recent video on the channel and in particular, one of Marcelo Bielsa’s decisions.
Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes ran out 4-1 winners at Elland Road and during his assessment of the game overall, the YouTuber discussed the coach’s decision to deploy Mateusz Klich as a holding midfielder and explained why in his view, that was “a mistake”.

(2:38) “Mateusz Klich is superb off the ball but it’s a totally different task being asked to be a holding midfielder as a single-pivot.
“It was very tough for Mateusz Klich asking him to perform that role. It’s tough for Kalvin Phillips performing that role so far this season, it’s going to be even tougher for Mateusz Klich.
“I thought that was a mistake, It’s very rare for me to criticise any decisions by Marcelo Bielsa but I was surprised by that.”

Klich’s performance rating on the night, according to WhoScored, was a disappointing 5.84/10, which backs up the point that the Poland international had a difficult night. That particular role is usually played by Kalvin Phillips, however, he sustained a shoulder injury during last month’s defeat courtesy of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It was reported at the time, that the 24-year-old could face up to six weeks on the sidelines and so given the way Leeds were seen to have struggled in that area versus Leicester, you could argue they’re going to have to find an alternative solution if they wish to cope effectively with the England international’s absence.
