Many Leeds United supporters have flocked to Twitter in order to react to a post from the club’s official account in which they shared footage of a goal from Liam McCarron during their Under-23s fixture versus Newcastle United which took place on Friday afternoon.
McCarron finished emphatically after combining with Joe Gelhardt, whom the Whites signed from Wigan Athletic back in August (as per Leeds Live).
Although Gelhardt, an England Under-18 international was just the provider on this occasion, his contribution has sparked much discussion with regards to his development in the replies section.

It’s clear from the above responses that these Leeds United supporters continue to be impressed by what they are seeing from the Liverpool-born forward with some calling for him to be rewarded with a place in the first-team squad.
He’s still yet to feature for Marcelo Bielsa’s side (as per Transfermarkt), however, he has a fair amount of experience playing in the Championship with his former club Wigan, for whom he made 18 appearances in the second tier during the 2019/20 campaign. Based on how these fans view the player’s progress, it may not be too long before he’s handed an opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League.
