Joe Urquhart has been speaking on the latest edition of the Inside Elland Road podcast about all things relating to Leeds United.

Starting with an easy one what shirt number does Bamford wear for Leeds United?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was how Victor Orta views the January transfer window, and it seems as if the Spaniard is not a big fan of doing business in the January transfer window.

However, it seems as if they do have targets in mind if needed.

This is what Urquhart had to say on Orta: “I think the problem is that it’s a big risk to get players in that window because you have to either pay over the odds, or you have to try and bring someone in who he thinks is a risk from abroad or the lower divisions.

“He left it open a little bit because he mentioned the fact that they will be ready, they will be tracking a few people, they will be ready to make offers if players become available for what they think is a good deal to be had.”

Do you think Leeds will sign anyone in January?

TIF Thoughts on Victor Orta’s view on the January transfer window…

In the last transfer window, the Whites spent £96.10m, so that could explain why they aren’t that keen to do any business in the upcoming transfer window.

However, last season the Whites did sign three players in the January transfer window in Ian Poveda, Jean-Kevin Augustin, and Elia Caprile.

Poveda has since made ten first-team appearances; however, Caprile has not played one first-team game yet, and Augustin managed just 48 minutes of action in the time he spent with Leeds.

So not exactly the best set of transfers, and perhaps that could explain why Orta is not keen on the January transfer window.

Either way, we feel that despite Orta not being keen on doing business in January, if Marcelo Bielsa wants someone signed, or Leeds feel the need to make some improvements, then he could have no choice but to be active, even if he doesn’t seem keen on the January window.
