A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by BBC broadcaster Adam Pope in which he shared the news that referee Anthony Taylor is set to officiate the Whites’ Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
In his tweet, Pope explained that Taylor has refereed one other Leeds game already this term – their 4-3 win over Fulham back in September.
So, how did these Leeds United fans react to Pope’s tweet relaying this news ahead of Sunday’s game?
Anthony Taylor is the referee for #lufc v Arsenal on Sunday. He was in charge for the 4-3 victory over Fulham at Elland Road earlier this season.

Even though Leeds took all three points from the only other game of theirs that Taylor has refereed this season, plenty of the Whites fans who replied to Pope’s tweet shared some concern over this news.
Some Leeds supporters indicated that they have bad memories of Taylor refereeing Leeds games in the past, while some other Whites fans slated Taylor’s refereeing ability.
He also failed to give xhaka a second yellow in the fa cup against arsenal too

The Whites suffered a 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in their most recent Premier League game and while Patrick Bamford scored Leeds United’s only goal in that game, he also had a goal disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee.
In his post-match interview following that loss, Bamford stated that the referee for that game, Chris Kavanagh, (1:00) “didn’t really know” why the goal was ruled out when the striker asked him about it and with that in mind, perhaps it’s understandable why some Leeds fans replied to this tweet to share that they don’t think it matters who the referee is.
Who’s the #VAR ref ? He’s the most important one these days especially with our recent decisions #lufc

It doesn’t matter who the ref is anymore it’s VAR who are spoiling the game

Are you concerned by this news?
YES
NO
So, judging by these replies to this tweet, it may be fair to say that Pope’s post certainly seems to have drawn a largely negative reaction from Leeds fans.
