Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that reveals Real Madrid’s alleged asking price for Gareth Bale to leave the club on a permanent deal.
According to the report by Mundo Deportivo (via TeamTalk), Real Madrid would be looking for a fee of €15 million (£13.7 million) in order to let Bale leave the club on a permanent basis.
Team Talk goes on to claim that Jose Mourinho has been ‘impressed’ by Bale’s ‘early-season form’, while Madrid’s ‘desire to get Bale’s wages off the books’ could make a permanent move easier to complete for Spurs.
So, what did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to discovering Real Madrid’s alleged asking price for Gareth Bale?
He needs to turn up before we can sign him. Still strolling around like he’s on a Spanish golf course.

wouldn’t take him

Surely just loan him for free until his contract expires like we’ve agreed?
Crazy to pay a fee an then take on his full wages.— Coombesy (@CoombesyCOYS) November 9, 2020
Don Levy will get that fee down to £9m and two tickets to the Skywalk. https://t.co/WqovQHOnT4

Personally I haven’t seen a great deal from Bale yet, wasn’t expecting him to hit the ground running but he seems a tad hesitant to get to the ball first if there’s even the smallest chance of getting tackled.Understandable given previous injuries, but we can’t have passengers.

What about his ludicrous salary?

These Spurs fans seem slightly unconvinced at the idea of their club paying €15 million (£13.7 million) in order to sign the £22.5 million-rated 31-year-old on a permanent deal, and, going off the forward’s stats since his return to the club, we can see where they’re coming from.
So far, over his three Premier League appearances, Bale has scored one goal, provided no assists, and averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.62.
Would you be happy for Spurs to spend €15 million on Bale?
Yes
No
In the Europa League, the Welshman has started three games for Spurs, scoring no goals and providing no assists, as well as averaging a disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.54.
Having said this, the general consensus is that Bale is yet to reach full fitness after recovering from a knee injury he had on his arrival at Spurs, and that, given time, he will only improve for Mourinho’s side.
And, it would seem, in stark comparison to the previous comments, there are at least some Spurs fans who would love to see Bale join the club for the quoted fee.
yes plz

All in all, it would appear that opinion amongst Spurs fans is somewhat split as to whether they would like to see their club sign Bale on a permanent deal, with some stating their belief that they haven’t seen enough from the 31-year-old yet to convince them he would be worth the reported fee.
