Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed information regarding Gareth Bale’s objection to EA Sports regarding the latest FIFA game.
According to a recent report by The Athletic, both Bale and AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic claimed it was “time to investigate” the ‘use of their name and face in the EA Sports game, FIFA 21’.
The report went on to state that sources had told them that a ‘growing number of top players’ are considering following Bale and Ibrahimovic’s lead in objecting to the use of their ‘likeness in the video game without, they believe, proper consent’.
So, what did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to the news regarding Gareth Bale?
Hope to this isn't true. Totally immortal and after earning 600k a week out of the sport Bale should be looking to give more back. This ultimately will result is the fans of the sport and the FIFA game having to pay out more money just to end up in the players pocket. Sick!

I really hope this doesn’t cause unnecessary drama…

The same Gareth Bale that was happily on the front cover of Fifa 14 and probably got a nice pay cheque from it. ?

The report by The Athletic came following Ibrahimovic’s tweet on Monday, in which he stated that he had not given FIFA or EA Sports his permission to use his name and face in the game, nor did he agree to FIFA profiting off of his likeness.
Do you think Bale's complaint is fair?
Yes
No
Bale then responded to Ibrahimovic’s post, tweeting: “Interesting… what is @FIFPro? #TimeToInvestigate.”

Although this is fair, can’t the fans just have something nice? https://t.co/eV9mjMJglT

All in all, while some of these Tottenham fans do appear to understand the argument behind Bale and Ibrahimovic’s case, others seem to think that footballers already earn enough money to be complaining about the use of their likeness in a game, and that they should just let fans of the game enjoy playing with their favourite team and players on FIFA.
