Speaking recently on The West Ham Way Podcast, ExWHUemployee suggested that Celtic could be interested in West Ham United manager David Moyes to take over at Parkhead.

Arriving at West Ham for the second time in his career in December 2019, in his current spell as manager, Moyes has so far overseen 32 matches at the club, winning 11, drawing seven and losing 14 of these fixtures.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

This season, the Hammers have started their Premier League campaign impressively despite a rather challenging run of fixtures, comprehensively beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City, drawing with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City and narrowly losing out to Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as beating Fulham and Sheffield United, leaving the club sitting in eighth place in the table.

As a result of their fine form so far this season, praise has been heaped on Moyes for the job he has done thus far at West Ham, with the club reportedly considering offering the 57-year-old a new contract in east London.

However, speaking on a recent episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, ExWHUemployee discussed the uncertainty surrounding Neil Lennon’s position as Celtic manager, before suggesting that both Rangers and Celtic could be interested in Moyes.

He said: “If you look at the Scottish league, now, for the first time in about 10 years, Rangers are actually way ahead [of] Celtic.

“Obviously, Celtic have dominated it for years. Rangers, due to financial irregularities, were put down to the bottom professional division [and had to] work their way back up. They’re now obviously doing well.

“So [Steven] Gerrard, as manager, they won’t be able to keep hold of him too much longer, I wouldn’t have thought, before he gets a move to England.

“Obviously, Celtic are looking for a manager, I believe, right now. So [with Moyes] being Scottish, I know it’s an obvious link to make, maybe one of those clubs could be interested in the near future.”

Do you think Moyes would take the Celtic job if offered it?

TIF Thoughts on ExWHUemployee’s comments regarding David Moyes…

From ExWHUemployee’s comments, while he is in no way stating that Celtic are definitely interested in Moyes, he believes that the Scottish Premiership side are looking for a new manager, and that the 57-year-old could be a person of interest to the Bhoys in the near future.

And considering the fact that Celtic often participate in European competition, perhaps the argument could be made that the Celtic job may be tempting for Moyes if offered.

However, with West Ham currently going well in the Premier League, and with talk of a new contract being offered to the Scot, in our opinion, things do not seem to be pointing in the direction of Moyes’ departure from West Ham any time soon.
