Speaking on a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold stated his belief that Danny Rose will never feature for Tottenham Hotspur again.

Following his £900k move to Spurs from Leeds United back in 2007, Rose has gone on to feature 214 times for the North London side, chipping in with 10 goals and providing 29 assists along the way.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

However, following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Tottenham manager in November 2019, the £9 million-rated left-back featured just five times over the course of 17 games under the 57-year-old, before eventually being loaned out to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese manager then made his position clear on Rose’s future at the club, stating that he would be happy for the 30-year-old to leave Tottenham over the summer transfer window.

However, no move materialised for the England international, and, despite the fact the defender is still part of the Spurs team, his chances of featuring for the club this season appear extremely slim, as Mourinho decided to leave the defender out of his 25 man Premier League squad.

Rose was one subject of discussion on a recent video Gold posted on YouTube, in which, in reaction to a fan asking whether or not the journalist could see the left-back playing again for the club, or playing a part in the club’s upcoming fixtures, Gold said:

“I’d have to say no to both. He’s not even training with the first team, [he’s] not even a part of things at Spurs. [He] couldn’t get any move away in the summer, they’ll try again in January.

“It’s sad, definitely, for all these years he’s been at Spurs. But ultimately, [he] couldn’t find himself a move away. I don’t think Spurs would have really blocked his way or even put up much of a fuss. They just would have got him off the wage bill, but they just couldn’t find anything that worked.”

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s comments regarding Danny Rose…

From Gold’s comments, it is clear the journalist is of the opinion that Rose will not be playing a part for Tottenham again, and that the club would be more than happy to get the player off of their wage bill, should a bid come in for him.

And, in our opinion, Rose should be doing all he can to find himself a new club in the January transfer window, as, at 30 years of age, he might not have all that many seasons left in his footballing career, so, spending a further six months sitting on the sidelines at Spurs waiting for his contract to run out, feels like a bit of a waste of his time.
