Crystal Palace YouTuber Diyar Kunaz has recently appeared on All Leeds TV to assist in previewing the fixture between the two clubs in the Premier League this coming weekend.

The pair are scheduled to meet at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon and during the preview, the support or lack of it, depending on your viewpoint Roy Hodgson has received from the club’s hierarchy came up as a topic of discussion.

During the summer, Eberechi Eze was the club’s most expensive signing, costing the Eagles a reported £16.02m but going by Kunaz’s comments, he believes the board may be holding back transfer funds from the current manager given his contract at Selhurst Park is due to expire at the end of this season.

Here is what he had to say:

“You have this situation at Palace where you don’t know if the board are backing the manager enough and then you don’t know if the board are doing the right thing because at the end of the day, if we’re getting players like Eze and Roy’s not starting him, what is the point of splashing £25-30m on another player when you can keep that money and spend it when your next manager comes in, hopefully at the end of the season.”

TIF Thoughts on Diyar Kunaz’s comments regarding the Crystal Palace board and Roy Hodgson…

There was much speculation during the summer with regards to Hodgson’s future. Last season, the South London-based club comfortably avoided relegation, finishing in 14th place, some nine points clear of the drop zone.

However, given the 73-year-old is yet to be offered an extension to his current deal, he could well leave the club next summer and therefore the board may not feel they want to put further transfer funds in the hands of Roy Hodgson.
