Speaking recently on a video posted on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold discussed Tottenham Hotspur youth prospect Alfie Devine.

Since joining Spurs from Wigan Athletic’s youth setup this summer, Devine has gone on to feature for the club’s youth teams seven times, with six of these appearances coming in the U18 Premier League, over which the central midfielder has scored one goal and provided one assist, with the other appearance coming for the U23 side in a Premier League 2 fixture, in which the 16-year-old scored as Tottenham were beaten by Derby County U23s earlier this month.

The England U16 international was one topic of conversation on a video posted by Gold on YouTube, in which the journalist raved about the recent performances of the midfielder, as well as suggesting that Spurs fans should ‘keep an eye’ on the player.

He said: “Alfie Devine’s a terrific talent. They’ve been so pleased with him. He’s already stepping up to the U23s, scored a goal the other day – all at 16. So, massively keep an eye on him, [he’s a] very talented young guy, but as always, [it’s] very early days. Let’s see where he goes.”

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s comments regarding Alfie Devine…

From Gold’s comments, it is clear that the journalist has high hopes for Devine, and believes that everyone at Spurs has been incredibly impressed with the midfielder over his short time at the club thus far.

And considering Devine has already featured for the club’s U23 side at just 16 years of age, we have to say, it certainly appears as if the player does indeed possess a great amount of potential, and if he continues on the path that he is currently on, it would not surprise us in the least to see the midfielder making his first-team debut in the not-so-distant future.
