Many Scotland fans have flocked to social media in order to criticise the performance of Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor during their narrow victory over the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League.

Steve Clarke’s side extended their unbeaten run to eight games, making it their best run in 32 years (as per BBC Sport). Ryan Fraser’s early goal proved the difference between the two sides on the night, but Celtic’s McGregor has come in for some strong criticism following his display.

According to the BBC Sport website, on which fans are able to enter their player ratings for each individual, the 27-year-old’s showing earned him a rating of 5.93/10.

Here is what a sample of the supporters have had to say on Twitter.

It’s clear from the responses of these Scotland fans that they were not impressed by what they saw from the central midfield player during Wednesday night’s game. McGregor has made nine appearances in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, contributing two goals and two assists (as per Transfermarkt), but it seems these fans feel he is unable to replicate his performances for Celtic on the international stage.
