Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the performance of Olivier Ntcham in the club’s UEFA Europa League game against Lille on Thursday.

Ntcham had started the game and was taken off in the 82nd minute of the tie. The Hoops scored two first-half goals through Mohamed Elyounoussi, but Lille pulled one back through Mehmet Zeki Celik in the second half and Jonathan Ikone made it 2-2 in the 75th minute of the game (as per WhoScored).

Ntcham has been a regular in the midfield this season. He has made 16 appearances in all competitions so far, including in all 11 Premiership games. In the league, he has picked up one assist for the Hoops (as per Transfermarkt).

The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window, but he stayed at Parkhead. Some other Celtic fans also slammed the midfielder’s performance against Lille.

Ntcham, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), didn’t have a single shot on target in the game against Lille and played just one key pass, while he only recorded a single successful tackle and made one interception (as per WhoScored).

So it wasn’t quite an impressive performance from the 24-year-old and it is understandable why Celtic fans are angry at him.
