Colin Armstrong, Ross Bennett and Dougie Kinnear appeared on the latest edition of the Gersnet podcast where they discussed all of the latest Rangers news and Bennett waxed lyrical over the Glasgow-based club’s league form during the show.

After playing 12 Premiership games and facing off against each of their fellow top-flight competitors at least once, Rangers currently sit at the top of the table on 32 points, which puts them six points clear of their nearest challengers, who have played one game less than them at present.

How well do you remember Rangers' 2020/21 season so far? We'll start you off with an easy one... Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the opening gameweek of the Premiership, but which player scored the only goal of the game?

The Gers’ impressive start to the season has seen them go undefeated in the league, winning 10 of their 12 league games at this stage of the 2020/21 campaign.

With that in mind, it mightn’t come as a surprise that Bennett shared some excitement over Rangers’ form during this recent edition of the Gersnet podcast, saying: “The Old Firm was as easy as it’s been for a number of years, Ross County a couple of weeks before – that wasn’t particularly enjoyable to watch, but we weren’t caused too many problems and then before that, you’re looking at Motherwell, who we beat 5-1.

“It’s the ease with which we’re dispatching of these teams without [them] really causing any problems, without having any stress or difficulty or relying on a late winner or anything like that.

“So, there does feel like there’s something about this team, there does feel a certain air of invincibility about the team.

“That’s not to say we’ll go through this season without being beaten, but we’ve played everyone in the league now, we haven’t lost to anyone, we’ve drawn two and I think we’ve conceded three goals – I mean, that’s staggering when you think about it. There does feel like there’s something special about this group.

“It feels like maybe there’s been a shift in the mentality of the players, they’re holding themselves a bit differently, they have a slightly different outlook or different mindset. It does fill me with a massive deal of optimism.”

TIF Thoughts on what Bennett had to say about Rangers’ form…

It is difficult to argue against Bennett’s view that Rangers have got an “air of invincibility” about them at the moment thanks to their current run of form in the league and it will be interesting to see for how long they can maintain their undefeated Premiership record.

It certainly seems from what he had to say that Bennett is feeling confident about Rangers’ chances of winning their first top-flight title since the 2010/11 season, thus putting an end to their Old Firm rivals’ title-winning streak this term.

Perhaps it may be fair to say that Steven Gerrard’s side has set the standard in the Premiership this season and it’s understandable that this has excited some of the club’s fans but perhaps it would be wise for the team to avoid buying into their own hype and guard against complacency, considering that complacency was said to have played a notable role in causing their title hopes to fade last season.
