Pundit Kevin Graham has recently made a claim about the possibility of Celtic signing Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

Graham was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. Graham gave his verdict about the possibility of Celtic signing Ferguson in the future and he believes that the club is playing the ‘long game’ with the midfielder and the Hoops will sign him at some point.

Which of the following clubs has Shane Duffy never played for?

Lewis is a central midfielder by trade and he happens to be the son of Derek Ferguson and the nephew of Barry Ferguson. Both Derek and Barry played for the Gers.

When talking about the 21-year-old, Graham seemed confident that Celtic will sign the midfielder soon and the Hoops are playing the ‘long game’ with the Aberdeen man.

Do you want to see Celtic sign Lewis Ferguson?

He said: “I think Celtic are playing the long game with Lewis Ferguson, and I do think that the move will happen. At the moment, that may mean that we need to lose somebody in the middle of the park. So if we go back to what I said that we’ve got a deficit to make up and we could see somebody moving in January, we could see a midfield option or two midfield options opening in January.”

TIF Thoughts…

Ferguson has impressed a lot in the ongoing Premiership campaign and in eight league appearances, he has already scored five goals for Aberdeen. He has picked up a rating of 7.21/10 and only two Aberdeen players have picked up better ratings than him in the league so far (as per Whoscored).

Olivier Ntcham was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window and if he does leave, Celtic will have a spot in the midfield that might need filling up. At 21, Ferguson is someone who might still improve as a footballer and is valued at only £1.35m – which isn’t exactly an expensive amount. So signing him might be a good option for the Bhoys.
