Pundit Stevie Mullen has recently made a claim about Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic.

Mullen was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Parkhead-based club. One topic of discussion was the club’s recent 2-2 draw against Lille in the UEFA Europa League. Mullen believes that Rogic is now adding something to the Celtic first-team and he gave credit to the Celtic staff for getting him back on track.

Rogic was heavily linked with a move to an unnamed Qatar-based club. Reports had stated that he was set for that move and Celtic were in talks to sell the Australian midfielder (as per the Daily Mail).

Are you glad that Rogic managed to stay at Celtic?

The 27-year-old has returned to action this season and has made five appearances in all competitions already for the club. Mullen believes that Rogic has now got his fitness back on track.

He said: “Tommy Rogic had left Celtic earlier in the pre-season during the transfer window. Tommy Rogic was away and then there was a development with his transfer out of the club, but fair play to Tommy Rogic, fair play to the Celtic background staff. They’ve embraced him back in, he’s got himself fit – now he’s adding something to our game.”

TIF Thoughts on Mullen’s comments about Tom Rogic…

Rogic made his first start of the season in all competitions against Aberdeen on Sunday and he even got two assists in the game. Celtic didn’t win the game but the Australian picked up a rating of 7.69 on the day and he was the highest-rated player for the Bhoys (as per Whoscored).

That might be a reflection of the fact that he adds some quality to the club’s first-team. Last season, he had contributed to eight goals in all competitions. So Celtic fans can only hope that the midfielder stays fit and contributes regularly to the club’s first-team in the current season.
