Glasgow Times journalist Colin Watt has recently praised Celtic ace Nir Bitton for his abilities as a player.

Watt was a guest on the latest episode of the A Celtic State of Mind podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys.

They talked about multiple Celtic players and Bitton was one of the players that Watt praised for his contributions to the Hoops.

Watt believes that Bitton is “Mr. Reliable” and he has found his level at Parkhead and because of that, he won’t move down south.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

Bitton, currently 28, has made five appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys this season and three of those appearances have come in the Premiership.

He has played one game each in the Champions League qualifying stages and the Europa League qualifying stages (as per Transfermarkt).

Watt praised Bitton and he believes that the Israeli player won’t move down south as he has found his level at Celtic.

He said: “He is Mr. Reliable for Celtic. He slots in whenever Celtic call upon him.

“He’s a guy who has probably found his level at Celtic. He’s not going to make a move down south. His next move will be to a lesser club when he does move on.”

TIF Thoughts…

Bitton has been at Celtic since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Israeli club FC Ashdod. Since joining the Hoops, he has made as many as 216 appearances in all competitions.

Apart from playing in the defensive midfield position, he has also played at centre-back and right-back (as per Transfermarkt).

In the Premiership this season, Bitton has picked up a rating of 7.09 for his three league appearances. Only eight players have picked up better ratings than him for Celtic in the Premiership.

All of this shows how reliable a player he is for the Bhoys and because of that, it is understandable why Watt praised for the 28-year-old.
