Celtic pundit Chris Boud has recently made a claim about the availability of Mohamed Elyounoussi and Kristoffer Ajer for the upcoming Old Firm derby.

Boud was a guest on the latest episode of The Cynic Weekly podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was the Old Firm derby and the players who have tested positive ahead of the game. Boud claimed that there were rumours about Elyounoussi and Ajer also testing positive, but he has dismissed any concerns over their availability.

Which of the following clubs has Shane Duffy never played for?

Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed have already tested positive for the virus, as has Odsonne Edouard. Ryan Christie is in isolation, as he came in close contact with former Hoops man Stuart Armstrong, who also tested positive.

Should Ajer and Elyounoussi start against Rangers?

Boud briefly addressed the rumours that Ajer and Elyounoussi might have tested positive as well.

He said: “If we lose anyone else, if we lose Duffy – there were rumours about Ajer and Moi [Elyounoussi] which seem to be absolute garbage today, but if we lose any more defenders, it is going to get very, very worrying.”

TIF Thoughts…

Both Ajer and Elyounoussi had, in fact, featured for the Norwegian national team in their 1-0 win over Northern Ireland recently.

Ajer himself confirmed that while some other Celtic players have tested positive, there have been no problems in the Norwegian camp and everyone is following the guidelines that have been charted out by UEFA (as per the Scottish Sun).

That is perhaps a surefire sign that both players are fit and healthy and could yet feature in the upcoming Old Firm derby in the Premiership.
