The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has recently heaped praise on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ English defender Max Kilman.
During the Old Gold’s 1-0 victory over Leeds United on Monday night, the 23-year-old centre-back provided the assist for Raul Jimenez’s match-winning goal (per WhoScored).
Kilman also delivered an all-round impressive performance as he earned a 7.75/10 match rating, making him Wolves’ best player on the night.

He said: “It’s his shirt, I’m not sure how you can leave him out after the two performances he’s given, especially [against Leeds]. Kilman’s a ready-made, left-sided centre-half – that’s his position.
“You mentioned that Liverpool game [which Kilman played in last season], he was outstanding that day against a first-choice Liverpool team back in December at Anfield; a rowdy Anfield that night as well.
“When you get a young defender coming into a team in the Premier League, with the intensity and the pace and the skill that goes with that, there must be a very easy tendency to have a real rabbit in the headlights [feeling].
“He’s so composed, nothing gets to him at all. He’s tall, he’s good in the air, he’s a really good lad and it’s his shirt, for me. He’s got to carry on playing.”
