To kick off this quiz on Joao Moutinho, what squad number does the midfielder currently wear for Wolves?

One of the teams that he spent some time on was Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Castles revealed that the club are in talks with Adama Traore over a new contract.

The 24-year-old has just under three years left on his deal, but Wolves want to give Traore an extension.

It seems as if, according to Castles, talks between Wolves and Traore have begun, and they intend to extend his contract so that they can then sell him next summer for potentially more money; however, at the moment, the terms on offer are below what Traore wants.

He said: “There have been talks already on a renewal.

“I am told that Wolves’ offer was way below the level that Adama thought was realistic for his qualities, and in Adama’s case, you’re looking at a player who supports a lot of individuals in his family with his salary.

“I think the expectation is that an agreement will be made in the end.

“However, from what I understand, they are some distance apart, and there’s a fair bit of work to be done on getting him tied down to a longer contract and strengthening their position for the planned sale in the coming summer.”

Do you think Traore will sign a new deal?

TIF Thoughts on Castles’ information on Traore’s contract talks…

Traore is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, and it was claimed earlier this year that Wolves wanted £70m for the winger, but it appears that no one has offered that amount for him, and the winger has stayed at Molineux.

Last season in the Premier League, the Spaniard was Wolves’ best player, earning a 7.49/10 average rating from his 37 league games.

Meanwhile, this season, Traore has only started three league games for the Old Gold and has earned a decent 6.9 rating from his six league appearances.

However, he has not scored or provided an assist in any of his those games.

Despite this, though, if Castles is correct, then the 24-year-old is in contract talks with his club, and though they are far apart at the moment, he thinks that Traore will sign a new deal at Molineux.
