The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has aired some concerns regarding “short-term” issues surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers.

So far this season, the Old Gold have played four games in the Premier League, of which they have won two and lost two (per Sky Sports).

The six points Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have accrued over the opening games of their top-flight campaign have left Wolves sitting 13th in the Premier League table.

Aside from their start to the league season, the Molineux outfit were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup in a 1-0 defeat against Championship side Stoke City.

So, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast, Spiers aired some concerns which he describes as “short-term” issues.

To kick off this quiz on Raul Jimenez, what is his current squad number for the Old Gold?

After being asked how he feels about Wolves’ current state of affairs, Spiers said: “It changes on an hourly basis, I think, as per my emotional state – either very happy or very sad.

“I’m a bit concerned in the short term. That West Ham game completely threw me, I didn’t see it coming at all, and they manfully struggled on against Fulham to get an important win.

“Some issues are up in the air at the moment. [In] Nuno’s post-match comments after Fulham, he was moaning a lot about [a] lack of preparation, not being able to work with his players.

“This is not the Wolves that we know, and it’s hard to predict what they going to do next, to be honest.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he believes there are a few areas of concern in the “short-term” regarding the Old Gold at the moment.

One of those issues seems to be Nuno Santo’s belief that he has not had enough time to work with his players on the training pitch.

During the current international break, the Portuguese manager has claimed that he will be without “almost 98% of the squad” due to players being called up to their national side (per Express and Star).

So, a lack of time to train with his first-team players may be an issue which will persist for a little while longer.
