The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has explained what Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to do during the domestic transfer window.

On Monday night, the international transfer window closed, however, a domestic window will run until 5pm on 16th October (per Sky Sports).

The window will allow Premier League clubs to trade with EFL sides, either via loans of permanent transfers.

During the international window, the Old Gold sealed the arrival of seven players with five brought in on permanent transfers and two players on loan (per Transfermarkt).

In the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast, Spiers discussed what he believed the Old Gold are looking to do during the domestic window.

To kick off this quiz on Raul Jimenez, what is his current squad number for the Old Gold?

He said: “The domestic window’s still open, we should say. Wolves were looking to get Ryan Bennett, Oskar Buur Rasmussen and Roderick Miranda out [before Monday’s deadline], but nothing really came up.

“Deals can still continue between Premier League clubs and EFL clubs, one way or t’other, but not between Premier League clubs.

“So, Ryan Bennett can’t go to Fulham, for example, but he can go to Norwich. So, they’ll try and get a few of those out.

“Dion Sanderson as well, is not figuring for the Under-23s and they’re looking to get him out; Niall Ennis, people like that.

“It’s not a bloated squad, it’s not like a Man United-type thing where all these guys are on massive wages, but yeah, they’ll look to get these guys clubs in the next week.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, it seems there are several players which the Old Gold are looking at moving on before the domestic transfer window closes.

However, Spiers did not disclose whether those will be permanent departures or just loan moves.

So far this season, of the players mentioned by the reporter, only Buur has featured for Wolves in the Premier League as he has made one substitute appearance (per WhoScored).

With around a week left to go until the domestic window closes, it will be interesting to see which of the names mentioned end up leaving Molineux.
