West Ham United podcaster Tom Edwards has recently praised the togetherness in the Hammers’ squad and made a claim regarding Mark Noble.

Over their previous three Premier League fixtures, the Irons have taken seven points from games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur (per Sky Sports).

In the latest of the three matches, the 3-3 draw with Spurs, David Moyes’ side overturned a three-goal deficit in the closing stages of the match to earn a point.

However, one man who did not make it off the bench for the comeback against Jose Mourinho’s side was captain and West Ham stalwart, Mark Noble.

So, in the latest episode of the We Are West Ham Podcast, Edwards discussed the togetherness in the squad and made a claim regarding Noble.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “It was just the fight the side made, just to not drop [their] heads and just to keep going and the way and the manner that we did it – people off the bench contributed.

“[Andriy] Yarmolenko clearly doesn’t like being on the bench, he comes on and has a huge impact in the second goal. Just seeing a squad so together, you saw all the subs [and] the way they celebrated.

“Noble didn’t come on, I guarantee that hurt him not to come on in that game.

“You saw his reaction when [Manuel Lanzini] scored, it’s a picture of him and [Darren] Randolph, who’s basically on his shoulders screaming down the touchline and you think they’re a proper squad, all together.

“Moyes has massively turned it around in terms of the atmosphere and, results-wise, we’re starting to do the business.”

TIF Thoughts on Tom Edwards’ claims regarding the squad’s togetherness and Mark Noble…

As can be seen in what the podcaster had to say, he was full of praise for the togetherness in the Irons’ squad, however, he felt it will have “hurt” Noble that he did not come on.

Was David Moyes right to leave Mark Noble on the bench during the match against Spurs?

No, should've come on

No, should've come on

Yes, it was the right call

Yes, it was the right call

Noble has made three appearances for West Ham in the Premier League so far this season, one was a start and the other two were off the bench (per WhoScored).

Having failed to score or provide an assist in any of the outings, the £4.05m-rated Englishman earned a weak 6.11/10 average rating which has made him the fourth-worst performer for the Hammers so far this term.

So, perhaps it is not too much of a surprise that Moyes did not turn to the 33-year-old midfielder when the Irons were looking to get back into the game with Tottenham.

As for the togetherness in the squad, it is abundantly clear from the Hammers’ recent results that they are in impressive form and long may that continue.
