West Bromwich Albion podcaster Chris Lepkowski has been sharing his thoughts on whether or not he feels Slaven Bilic will walk away from his position at the Midlands club.

This comes after Lepkowski recently co-hosted the latest episode of West Brom-themed podcast The Liquidator, where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the Baggies.

After Bilic recently expressed his disappointment in the fact that Ahmed Hegazi had left the club against his wishes, Lepkowski shared his thoughts on whether or not Hegazi’s sale could force Bilic to leave the club.

He said: “I don’t think he will [walk out of the club]. Let’s look at this realistically, he’s a manager who’s earning a lot of money at a football club. If he quits a football club, he won’t be getting a pay-off. Managers don’t just walk out on clubs that easily, what they try and do is maybe pressure clubs into making that decision on their behalf.

“I don’t think Slaven Bilic is going anywhere just yet. I think if he is to leave the club, I think it will be determined by results on the field and by [the] progress or lack of progress that the club makes. I don’t think we’ve got anything to worry about just yet.”

Bilic was appointed as West Brom’s manager back in July 2019. Since then, the 52-year-old has taken charge of 58 matches with the Baggies in which they have won 25, drawn 20 and lost 13 (per Transfermarkt).

His current deal at West Brom is set to expire at the end of June 2021.

Hegazi recently joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad on loan but is expected to sign on a permanent basis at the end of the current season (per BBC Sport).

As well as expressing his disappointment with this move, Bilic also claimed that he wanted to keep Hegazi at the club and that the defender also wanted to stay.

TIF Thoughts on Lepkowski’s comments on Bilic…

Even though Bilic shared his disappointment with the club that they allowed Hegazi to leave, it appears that Lepkowski doesn’t think that the manager is in any danger of walking out of the club anytime soon, which should be reassuring for the West Brom fans.
