Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been responding to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs news Twitter account @HotspurRelated in which they relayed the alleged news that the North London club ‘will prioritise’ extending the contract of club captain Hugo Lloris after they get Heung-min Son tied down to a new deal.

This tweet cites The Athletic as the original source of this claim and this comes after they recently published an article stating that the Lilywhites ‘are set to agree a new long-term deal’ with Son, who has currently got just under three years remaining on his Tottenham contract.

Lloris has got just under two years remaining on his current deal with the North London club and in this report from The Athletic, it is claimed that ‘the next priority’ for Spurs after getting Son signed to a new deal, would be to tie the World Cup-winning goalkeeper down for the long-term.

So, how did these Tottenham Hotspur fans react to @HotspurRelated’s tweet sharing this reported contract claim on Lloris?

This news drew a mixed reaction from Tottenham supporters after it was shared on Twitter by @HotspurRelated. Plenty of Spurs fans responded to this post to share some uncertainty over how wise it would be for the Lilywhites to give Lloris a long-term deal given that he is currently 33 years old.

Meanwhile, some other Spurs fans replied to this post to indicate that they would be happy to see the £10.8m-rated Frenchman sign a new deal with the North London club.

Would you like to see Lloris sign a new long-term deal with Spurs?

So, judging by these replies to this post, it seems as though the main issue that Tottenham fans would have with Lloris receiving a new long-term contract is his age, while plenty of Spurs supporters would be glad to see him sign a new deal regardless of the fact he is 33 and would be 35 when his current deal is set to expire.
