How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

One of the topics that Bardi spent a little bit of time on was Joe Hart, and he revealed why he thinks the club signed the former Manchester City man rather than stick with Paulo Gazzaniga as the backup to Hugo Lloris.

It seems as if Bardi believes that Hart provides a presence that Jose Mourinho wants from his substitute goalkeepers, and though he doesn’t think he is that good, he can see why the Spurs boss likes him.

He said: “What I do think Jose wants in his substitute goalkeepers [is] he does want a presence, and I don’t think Gazzaniga gives that, and everything we’ve seen from Hart when he does play, he’s loud and there is that organisation to him.

“So, at least Joe Hart, even though he’s pretty bad, he’s kind of proactive without the ball in terms of his voice and his presence and everything else, so I can see why Jose likes him.”

Can you see why Spurs signed Hart?

Hart also has a lot of experience compared with Gazzaniga and is also a winner.

The 33-year-old has made 340 Premier League appearances compared with Gazzaniga, who has only made 43 and then Hart has won five trophies while Gazzaniga has won none.

So, looking at this and Bardi’s point, you can see why Spurs signed Hart.

Hart has already played two games for Spurs and has been on the bench for all of their Premier League games, so it is clear that he is the second choice goalkeeper.

Bardi clearly thinks Hart offers what Mourinho wants from a goalkeeper, even if he is not so keen on Hart himself.
