On the latest video for his YouTube channel Chris Cowlin welcomed Jamie Brown from the Daily Hotspur, to preview Tottenham Hotspur’s game against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

One topic of discussion during the video was who Brown thinks will start in the upcoming game against the Hammers. There has been a lot of rumours recently surrounding Gareth Bale and his return to fitness after he re-signed on loan from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

It has been suggested recently that the Welsh international could make his second debut for the club against West Ham this weekend but Brown seems to think that Jose Mourinho will stick with Lucas Moura from the start against the Hammers.

He said during the video: “Unfortunately, I can’t see Bale starting. I really hope I’m wrong, but I think that Lucas Moura will start ahead of him. He’s, of course, been at Hotspur Way this week, Lucas Moura, so there’s a good chance he will start.”

TIF Thoughts…

It would perhaps be a surprise to see Bale start, despite impressing in training recently, as injury problems, as well as his strained relationship with Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, have meant that he has played very little football over the past year, so he may not yet be entirely match-fit.

Do you think think Moura will start on Sunday?

No

Therefore, it seems likely that Moura will start his fourth game of the Premier League season, although with the former PSG man having averaged a disappointing 6.54 rating in his appearances thus far (per WhoScored), he may have to up his game if he wants to continue to start ahead of Bale.

It will be interesting to see if the Welshman is given any game time on Sunday and whether he can make a goalscoring return on his second debut for the North London club.
