Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Alasdair Gold relays the news that Paulo Gazzaniga and Gedson Fernandes have been left out of the club’s Europa League squad.
In his post, Gold stated that, ‘as expected’, Jose Mourinho came to the decision that Gazzaniga and Fernandes would be the two players ‘to miss out’ on the club’s Europa League campaign this season.
In reaction to this news, fans of Tottenham flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating that they feel sorry for Gazzaniga in particular, as some suggested that he has done nothing to warrant being left out of the squad.
Feel bad for them, especially for Paulo, always was exemplary

Feel very sorry for Gazza if this is true, played very well in the past when called upon, must of thought he would see some career progression?now being left out?he should leave our club and play for a team who recognise how good he is #COYS #THFC #Spurs

Feel bad for Paulo, he hardly does anything wrong when he plays. Gedson is a loan that I don’t think we’ll buy. He’ll do fine at Benfica. or if Wolves come calling ?

Feel sad for Paolo. All done to the ridiculous penalty he gave away against CFC.

The news that Gazzaniga has been left out of the club’s Europa League squad, while it appears to have upset these Spurs fans somewhat, is hardly surprising, as it was recently reported that the club are hoping to sell the 28-year-old in January.
However, the fact that Fernandes has been left out is, in our opinion, rather more interesting, as the player is still currently on loan at Spurs, having only arrived in January from Benfica, and is set to remain at the club until next summer.
And, it would seem the Portuguese player’s omission from the club’s Europa League squad has caused some Tottenham fans to question why they signed the midfielder in the first place, while others have called for the club to cancel his deal.
Do you think loaning Gedson Fernandes was a mistake?
Yes
No
Why are we keeping Gedson Fernandes on our books? Seems a complete waste of everyone’s time.

Might as well just cancel Gedson’s loan now. He’s not going to get a chance near the side.

The disrespect on both of them. Still can’t believe Jose wants Hart over Gazza https://t.co/S0xaZqAGrk

All in all, it would seem that some of these Spurs fans feel that leaving Gazzaniga out of the club’s European squad is harsh on the ‘keeper, while, in contrast, others appear to be unaware as to why Fernandes is still at the club.
