Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold spent some time talking about Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon during the most recent video that has been posted on his YouTube channel.

As per the BBC, Reguilon signed a five-year contract with Tottenham when he made the move to the north London club from Real Madrid last month alongside Gareth Bale who re-joined Spurs on loan.

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

The 2019/20 UEFA Europa League winner has made three appearances for the Lilywhites thus far since joining the club, with two of those appearances coming at his natural position, left-back, and one coming at the left midfield position.

Gold shared his thoughts on how the 23-year-old Spain international has fared since joining the Lilywhites during this recent YouTube video and the journalist was full of praise for the new Spurs man.

He said: “Reguilon is brilliant. I said this at the time, I really hoped the Bale deal didn’t overshadow how much [of] a coup Tottenham managed to do in getting Sergio Reguilon through the door.

“This guy, 23 years old, one of the top left-backs in Europe and if anyone, again, had any doubt that that was the case, you just watch him against Chelsea and Manchester United – phenomenal.

“Pace to burn, can defend, can get up the pitch, can set up goals, can take a shot at goal as well – and I think you saw a lot about his character against Chelsea; he made a mistake early on, gave the ball to [Cesar] Azpilicueta – it didn’t affect him.

“We’ve seen he’s an incredibly confident guy, you see him on the pitch, he’s always shouting and talking to people.”

Have you been impressed by Reguilon's performances for Spurs so far?

TIF Thoughts…

So, as can be seen in what Gold had to say, it certainly seems as though Reguilon has impressed him thus far during his time at Spurs, especially when you consider that he has made just three appearances for his new club so far since joining them last month.

Hopefully, for the Lilywhites, the Spaniard can build on his positive start to life at Tottenham and enjoy a positive 2020/21 campaign. However, if he does enjoy a very positive campaign, then there may be a strong chance that Los Blancos will activate their buy-back clause for the 23-year-old, meaning that Reguilon’s long-term future might not be in north London.
