Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some reported news on Ryan Sessegnon following his loan move to Hoffenheim.
The 20-year-old joined the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan earlier this week, as it appeared as if he would be third-choice left-back at the north London club this season, following their signing of Spanish international Sergio Reguilon.
Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold provided some details behind why Hoffenheim were selected as an appropriate destination for the former Fulham man, suggesting that they were chosen as they can offer the youngster plenty of minutes as a left wing-back in their squad (per Football.london).
Is this a good move for Sessegnon?
He also suggested that both Jose Mourinho and Spurs still have high hopes for the England U21 international and believe that he can battle it out with Reguilon for a starting left-back position when he returns from the loan spell.
After The Spurs Express relayed this news on Twitter, Lilywhites supporters have been sharing their opinions on the update, as can be seen below.
Reguilon arrival has really stirred things up at Spurs. It’s kicked Sess out to what hopefully is a good loan and Ben Davies has looked superb since Reg arrived. Healthy competition

Thats the kind of mentality thats needed. He can find focus and strengthen then he becomes an asset for years to come, good idea and good business for all parties
Some Spurs fans seem to think that next year could signal the end of Ben Davies’ time as a first-team regular at the club, should Sessegnon return a much better player.

Well that’s a relief. And there I was worrying we’d send him out somewhere to play in goal…

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans are delighted with this update on Sessegnon and hope he can return from his loan spell a much more experienced left-back.
