Tottenham Hotspur YouTuber Chris Cowlin recently welcomed Ricky Sacks onto his channel for a discussion of the latest transfer rumours surrounding the North London club.

One topic of discussion during the recent ‘Transfer Talk‘ episode was Spurs’ interest in Inter defender Milan Skriniar.

It has been suggested recently that the Slovakian international is Jose Mourinho’s number one target for the rest of the transfer window, although the two sides are still far apart when it comes to negotiating a fee for the 25-year-old (per Fabrizio Romano).

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

Here’s what Sacks had to say about Spurs’ chances of signing the former Sampdoria man during the video:

“There’s still a lot to play out I think, we’re not at a point yet where medicals are taking place. As we understand, the player has already consented that he wants to join Tottenham.

“He’s agreed upon that, he wants to join Jose Mourinho’s side, he’s a big, big fan of Mourinho. I think he likes the idea of coming to London, playing at a club like Tottenham.

“Everything points towards a positive conclusion provided we can get the negotiations sorted and get the fee agreed.”

TIF Thoughts…

Sacks seems confident that the deal will go through before the transfer window shuts, although there is clearly a lot of negotiating to be done, as Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio suggested recently that the Slovakian was not for sale, perhaps in an attempt to encourage Spurs to increase their bid.

Do you think Skriniar will join?

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can conclude a deal for Skriniar before the transfer window shuts next week, although he will perhaps need to improve on his form from last season, when he averaged a disappointing 6.61 rating in Serie A for Antonio Conte’s side, if he is going to be a success in the Premier League.
