How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

One of the topics that he spent some time talking about was the form of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has already played nine games this season and has one assist in the Premier League.

It seems as if McQueen has been very impressed by the Dane and feels that he could have won the Man of the Match award in most games because of how well he has started the season with Spurs.

He said: “‘The midfield destroyer’ I called him on social media, and it was really interesting because again I thought he had a really good game [against LASK].

“I think he was sluggish against Everton [since then] I think he’s been magnificent.

“I think [in] the second half against Southampton he was magnificent and he has been brilliant ever since.

“[When] I am trying to give Man of the Match you are looking at [Harry] Kane and [Heung-min] Son in all the games that we have played [and] every time I come back to it I am thinking ‘Hojbjerg, he could get Man of the Match.’

“So, I think he’s been superb.”

Are you enjoying Hojbjerg so far?

TIF Thoughts on McQueen’s view on Hojbjerg…

The 25-year-old was signed from Southampton in the last transfer window for £14.94m and he has earned an average rating of 6.97 for his performances in the league and a 6.96 rating for his one display in the Europa League group stages so far.

So far this season in the Premier League, Hojbjerg averages 2.2 tackles per game and 0.8 interceptions per game, which puts him in fifth for tackles and joint-fourth for interceptions when compared with the rest of Spurs’ squad.

So, looking at this and his average rating for the league and his one Europa League game, you can possibly see why McQueen is such a big fan of the Dane.
