Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have recently reacted to a transfer claim which has emerged regarding Gedson Fernandes.
According to Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira, who was recently interviewed by RTP3, as cited by Sport Witness, Spurs are considering cutting the player’s loan short.
Supposedly, the decision may be made due to Fernandes having limited minutes with Tottenham, however, the president claimed he is not guaranteed playing time with Benfica.
So, the player would either have to convince manager Jorge Jesus he deserves a place in the squad or, more likely, go elsewhere on loan.
This claim was relayed to Spurs fans on social media by Last Word On Spurs, who attributed the claim to A Bola, and it had lots of supporters talking.
So, what did Spurs fans have to say regarding the Gedson Fernandes transfer claim?

That makes eminent sense…there are a number of players who will struggle to get game time and should probably be moved on: Fernandes, Rose, and Foyth immediately spring to mind

Surely Jose didn’t want him in with the lack of game time he’s had?

In January of this year, Spurs completed the signing of the Portuguese midfielder on an 18-month loan with the option to make the signing permanent at the end of the loan period (per BBC).
Should Spurs send Gedson Fernandes back to Benfica in January?
Yes, he's not good enough
No, he has got potential
Right decision, hasn’t taken his chance when in the team.

Since his arrival at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 21-year-old middleman has made 13 appearances for Spurs in which he has neither scored nor assisted (per Transfermarkt).
Last season, he made just two Premier League appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side in which he earned a weak 6.13/10 average rating which made him their fifth-worst performer (per WhoScored).

As can be seen in these responses from Spurs supporters, many seem to believe that it would be a good decision to send the player back to Benfica early.
