A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs news Twitter account @HotspurRelated in which they relayed the alleged news that the north London club is set to prioritise extending Heung-min Son’s contract.
This tweet cites the Daily Mail as the original source of this alleged news and this comes after they recently published a report in which they explained that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy ‘has an unwritten rule in that he does not allow players to enter the final two years of their playing deals to avoid any possibility of losing them on free transfers.’
Son is under contract with Spurs until the end of June 2023 at present, meaning that he would enter into the final two years of his contract with the Lilywhites at the end of the current campaign.
As per the Daily Mail, with Spurs ‘keen to avoid any uncertainty regarding Son’s future at the club given his huge importance’ to Jose Mourinho’s side and due to the belief that he ‘is in the prime of his career’ at the moment, the 28-year-old attacker is set to receive a new contract offer which would see ‘a sharp increase’ in his £150k-per-week wages.
So, how did these Tottenham Hotspur fans react to this Son contract news after it was relayed by @HotspurRelated on Twitter?

Some Tottenham fans indicated that they think the South Korea international should earn more than he currently earns at Spurs, while other Lilywhites fans called for the club to give the £67.5m-rated attacker whatever he wants to keep him in north London.

However, not all Spurs fans reacted very positively to this news and one particular Tottenham supporter responded to this tweet to share that they think Son will ‘deteriorate quite quickly as he ages’ and they are ‘not sure’ the Lilywhites ‘should go mad’ with their contract offer.
Got a feeling Son is a player who’ll deteriorate quite quickly as he ages – not sure we should go mad here https://t.co/7qeU6A8Pjh

Would you like to see Son receive a contract extension?
YES
NO
So, while one Spurs fan was somewhat pessimistic about this reported news regarding Son, it certainly seems as though the majority of Lilywhites fans would be over the moon with a Son contract extension judging by these replies to this post from @HotspurRelated.
