Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his YouTube channel about all things Tottenham Hotspur and one of the topics that he spent a little bit of time on was Jack Clarke.

How well can you remember the last few weeks of Spurs action? 1. Which played scored a hattrick against Maccabi Haifa?

Gold revealed that the 19-year-old, who signed from Leeds United in the summer of 2019, has been impressing in training, and Spurs rejected a few loan offers from a few Championship clubs with Tottenham feeling that his development, for now, will be best served at the club.

It is unclear why they think this, but last season Clarke had two loan spells and failed to make a single league start, so perhaps that is why he is staying at Tottenham.

However, it seems as if the 19-year-old has been very good in training, and Tottenham think that the likes of Gareth Bale and Heung-min Son will be the ideal players for Clarke to learn from.

He said: “Jack Clarke stayed at Tottenham, they rebuffed a few inquiries from Championship clubs in the final weeks [of the transfer window].

“The idea with him is that he couldn’t have a better mentor in Gareth Bale and [Harry] Kane and [Heung-min] Son, and apparently they’ve been really impressed with Jack Clarke in training.

“He’s been really, really dazzling.”

Do you think this is the right thing for Clarke?

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s news on Jack Clarke…

Since Spurs signed Clarke, he has not made one first-team appearance for the club, and with Tottenham having so many options in his main role as a right-winger, perhaps he won’t get any game time this season either?

However, Gold suggests that Clarke might get some game time in the Europa League and also in Spurs’ clash with Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.

So, we will have to see what happens there, but Tottenham certainly sound pleased with Clarke’s performances in training.
