Tottenham Hotspur-oriented journalist Alasdair Gold has recently made a claim about Danny Rose.

Gold was talking about many things involving Tottenham in the latest video on his Youtube channel. He talked about multiple Spurs players and one of the players that he talked about was Rose.

Gold believes that it is a “sad situation” and Spurs might have to face a scenario where they would have to cancel his contract at the north London club.

Rose is yet to make a single appearance in all competitions for Spurs this season. He was loaned out to Newcastle United in the second half of the 2019/20 season and while he was linked with a move to Middlesbrough in the summer, he stayed at the club. He is currently valued at £9m.

Gold feels that Rose’s situation is ‘sad’ and Spurs might have to cancel his contract at some point in the near future.

He said: “I do think we’re probably going to get to a situation where they’re going to have to make a call of whether just to cancel his contract, come to some kind of mutual agreement like West Ham did with [Jack] Wilshere, or you bite the bullet, wait until January, try again to get him off the wage bill.

“It’s a sad situation for a guy that’s been at the club for around 13 years, something like that, has done a hell of a lot for the club but is almost hanging around like a bad smell, which is so sad for someone that’s contributed so much, but he’s not wanted.

“He doesn’t really want to be a bit-part player either, which is understandable. He’s not even training with the first-team squad now. So, it’s just in the best interest of all parties, I think, to bring an end to that relationship.”

TIF Thoughts on what Alasdair Gold had to say about Danny Rose…

Rose was recently left out of Tottenham’s squads in the Premier League and for the UEFA Europa League and this might be an indication of the fact that Jose Mourinho doesn’t really want the Englishman at the club anymore.

The left-back has made 214 appearances in all competitions for Spurs over the years and has scored ten goals while picking up 29 assists for the Lilywhites.

This suggests that he used to be an important player for the club and because of that, the current situation might indeed be sad since he has contributed quite a bit to the club in the past and he seems to be frozen out of the team now.

Since he’s now not looking to be a bit-part player – as Gold says, it is best for Rose to depart as soon as possible.
