Speaking recently on a video for Football.london, Alasdair Gold discussed Tottenham Hotspur’s reported interest in Swansea City defender, Joe Rodon.

Since making his Swansea debut as a 20-year-old back in 2018, Rodon has gone on to make 54 appearances for the Welsh side, chipping in with one assist along the way.

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

Last season, the £1.8 million-rated 22-year-old impressed for the Swans, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.90 over his 21 appearances in the Championship.

It would appear that the centre-back has carried this fine form into the new season, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.46 over his four appearances in the league thus far this term.

And, it would seem that his impressive performances have caught the eye of Tottenham, with the club reported to be in talks with the Welsh side regarding the transfer of the player, with a fee between £7 million and £18 million said to be ‘under discussion’.

This potential move was one subject of discussion in a recent video posted by Football.london, in which Gold shed some light on Spurs’ reported interest in the Wales international.

He said: “Joe Rodon, I understand, is a player they’ve got an interest in. [I’m] told it’s not quite to the degree that some are saying, [there have been] no bids made yet [or] anything like that, but he certainly is a player that they’re strongly considering making a move for during this little domestic window.”

Do you think Rodon would be a good signing for Spurs?

TIF Thoughts…

From Gold’s comments, it would certainly seem as if the journalist is of the belief that Spurs are indeed interested in a deal to sign Rodon in the domestic transfer window, which is set to run until October 16.

As such, despite the international transfer deadline passing on Monday, there remains the possibility that Spurs could still see further additions to their first-team squad, and this potential deal for Rodon is one that we will certainly be keeping a very close eye on over the next week or so.
