On the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, with a focus on some of the transfer business that could be concluded before the deadline.

One topic of conversation on his recent video was Juventus defender and reported Spurs transfer target Merih Demiral.

It has been suggested recently that the Lilywhites have an interest in signing the Turkish international, although it seems as if the Old Lady are not keen to sell him during the current transfer window.

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

The 22-year-old has struggled for game time in Turin, making just nine first-team appearances since joining from Sassuolo last summer, although his season was disrupted by a cruciate ligament rupture that kept him out for 20 games (per Transfermarkt).

Here’s what Gold had to say about Demiral during his video:

“Another one was Merih Demiral, the 22-year-old Turkish defender at Juventus. He’s a player Spurs have looked at for a few years now, they really like him.

“Had a cruciate ligament injury last season, he was on the bench before that a fair bit, so Spurs I think have been sounding out Juventus.

“Again, a very tough one to do – although he’s not a guaranteed first-team starter, Juventus [are] not particularly keen to sell.”

TIF Thoughts…

From the sound of things, Demiral may be an option for a future transfer window, as it seems unlikely that Spurs will be able to negotiate a deal for the £24.3 million-rated centre-back before tonight’s deadline.

Would you like to see Spurs sign Demiral in the future?

No

So far this season, the young defender has seen little first-team action for the Old Lady as he has managed just one substitute appearance in Serie A.

So, while Gold stated that Juventus would not be keen on selling the centre-back, it would certainly appear that he is not a key first-team player.

Therefore, from what Gold suggests, he could be one to keep an eye on for Spurs fans.
