A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from NUFC 360, which includes a link to a post from journalist Rob Harris which included a video of Rick Parry defending the new ‘Project Big Picture’ proposals put forward by Manchester United and Liverpool as a way to shake up English football.
Parry, the EFL chairman, claims that Liverpool and the Red Devils should be ‘commended‘ for thinking about the ‘greater good‘ of English football.
The Telegraph’s Sam Wallace broke the story, which includes plans for the Premier League to be cut from 20 to 18 teams.
More money would be given to the EFL, but crucially all of the power would be handed to the nine clubs who have been in the Premier League the longest.
All decisions and power would be in the hands of these nine clubs, which include Tottenham Hotspur, the Reds, Arsenal, West Ham United, and Everton.
Under these new rules, the clubs with the power would also be able to veto any potential takeover of any of the other Premier League clubs, so the likes of Newcastle and Leeds United would have to gain the approval of other clubs before they could be taken over.
So what did these Newcastle fans think of the Project Big Picture proposal?
Are you fuming with these comments?
Yes, this man is a disgrace
No, he is trying to protect the EFL
Unreal. “This isn’t about giving power to the bigger clubs”… that’s EXACTLY what it’s about!!

Newcastle fans appear to be angered by Parry, the former chief executive of Liverpool, is now defending their actions.
Perhaps he has seen the money that will be offered to the EFL and decided that the financial support would be a fair exchange for handing over power to a certain number of clubs.
This post continued to infuriate Newcastle fans.
The greater good? Really?
Madness.

Since the story was published, the Premier League and government have strongly condemned the plan, with the Premier League calling out Parry, so perhaps this plan will not go any further.
We will just have to see, but these Toon fans are fuming with these comments from Parry.
