Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer update concerning their club.
This comes after Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing the Tyneside club’s current transfer stance.
Downie revealed that Toon manager Steve Bruce has said he will only sign a new player if something “mouth-watering” pops up before the deadline.
The journalist then added that Bruce still has his “full quota of loans at his disposal” and that he has form in signing players on deadline day, such as Andy Carroll and Danny Rose.
Downie then concluded his tweet saying that it feels now that Bruce is “fairly content” with his squad.
This post, which also contained an image of the reporter stood outside St. James’ Park, then gathered a lot of replies from Toon fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
Transfer Deadline Day in the rain at Newcastle. Steve Bruce says he’ll only add if something “mouth watering” pops up. He still has his full quota of loans at his disposal and he has TDD form in the shape of Carroll & Rose, but it feels right now like he’s fairly content ?? #NUFC pic.twitter.com/5nqiuqwYx4

What a joke letting Lejeune go out on loan and not replacing him

So far in this current window, Newcastle have spent a total sum of £34.88 million to bring in Callum Wilson and Jamal Lewis, as well as Jeff Hendrick, Ryan Fraser and Mark Gillespie on free transfers (per Transfermarkt).
You must have inside knowledge if we are getting someone in then

Crazy a couple of more injuries and we have a major problem on our hands. Hardly and defensive cover

Do you think Newcastle will sign another player before the deadline?
Yes
No
Steve is just happy where he is. He doesnt want to rock the boat and challenge the owner. He will come and say he is happy with what he has, because he is a yes man.

Now that Downie has shared this update onto his official Twitter page, this opened the door for lots of Newcastle fans to share their thoughts on the situation.
Disgusting if he doesn’t at least use on loan. We need cover

Looking at the replies to this post from Downie, it appears that the majority of this group of Newcastle fans are not too pleased by the idea of their club not signing any players before Monday’s transfer deadline.
It’ll be interesting to see if any potential mouth-watering deals do pop up that Newcastle could take advantage of before the deadline.
