Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a tweet from @NUFC360 which includes a link to a recent interview given by Joelinton to The Telegraph.
Back in July 2019, the Magpies paid a huge £39.6m to sign the forward from the Bundesliga side, TSG Hoffenheim (as per Transfermarkt). Since his arrival, the 24-year-old has made 51 appearances for the club, but despite the substantial transfer fee paid, he has only managed to net on six occasions to date.
During the interview, the Brazilian discussed a range of subjects but @NUFC360, highlighted a particular part of the interview in which the player hailed the support he has received from the Newcastle faithful, despite perhaps not having been at his best since signing for the club.
What did this section of the St. James’ Park faithful make of Joelinton’s comments?
People just need to forget about his price tag last season was the past he’s put in some good performances in a role he’s more suited still room for improvement but he’ll get there eventually

Because Keyboard Warriors cant handle real world confrontation … they’re cowards at heart. Its plain to see he came on leaps and bounds this season, playing deeper has improved his contribution massively. #NUFC

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Newcastle fans were pleased to hear the £18m-rated Joelinton has been treated with respect when coming face to face with the club’s supporters in public.
