Many Newcastle United supporters have flocked to social media in order to react to a Twitter post from Callum Wilson.
The Magpies defeated Burnley at St. James’ Park on Saturday, a game in which the former Bournemouth striker netted twice.
Allan Saint-Maximin put the hosts ahead in the first half but they were pegged back by Ashley Westwood’s ‘superb volley‘ just after the hour mark.
However, it took just four minutes for Steve Bruce’s side to restore their lead thanks to Wilson, whom then added a third from the spot to ensure Newcastle earned all three points (as per BBC Sport).
The club’s official Twitter account posted a photo on social media of the 28-year-old kissing the camera following his goal and Wilson quote tweeted the post, sparking a response from a section of the St. James’ Park faithful, here is how some reacted.

It’s clear from the above responses that the £18m-rated forward has already become a very popular figure in the North East of England.
So far this season, Wilson has scored four goals in four Premier League appearances and, therefore, you can understand why these supporters are confident he can have a very successful season in the famous black and white stripes.
