A lot of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by @NUFC360 that saw them quote-tweet a post from football finance expert Kieran Maguire, in which he relayed an exclusive report from The Guardian that claims the Premier League withheld information regarding Project Big Picture from top-flight clubs outside of the ‘big six.’
This report states that earlier this month, the Premier League ‘held a meeting with the big six clubs to discuss the fallout from the publication of the Project Big Picture proposals without informing all 14 other clubs’ before another meeting of all Premier League clubs was scheduled to be held a day later.
It is said that some of the Premier League clubs outside of the ‘big six’ are unhappy that the top-flight’s chairman, Gary Hoffman, and chief executive, Richard Masters, didn’t keep them in the loop with regard to Project Big Picture.
So, how did these Newcastle United fans react to @NUFC360’s tweet relaying this reported claim about the Premier League?
“Senior figures at some of the 14 clubs are understood to be furious that the meeting was held without them, and that they were not told about it before or afterwards.” https://t.co/U3wxsN0mIq

Many of the Toon supporters who replied to this tweet slated the Premier League over this news, with some taking this opportunity to share that they think the English top-flight is corrupt.
If that isn’t corruption I don’t know what is!

The ‘other’ 14 should vote the top 6 out. Most of the ‘top 6’ aren’t even in the top 6! #PremierLeagueIsCorrupt

Time for change, the @premierleague is corrupt and it is time to bring their house down…….

One particular Newcastle fan shared that they aren’t surprised the Premier League have been acting like this and questioned for how long this type of behaviour has been going on.
I don’t know why anyone would be surprised. This is exactly the type of behaviour I’d expect from the PL. Question is how long has it been going on for?

Meanwhile, other supporters of the North East club suggested that some of the Premier League’s higher-ups may be ousted over this incident, with one Toon fan stating that this is a ‘scandal.’
Can’t see how any of them can remain in place if they’ve done thus and effectively lost the trust of 14 other clubs. Vote of no confidence in the board, surely? Wonder if that’ll be another avenue for Ashley to pursue??

The nets closing, even if takeover happens they still need to be brought to the dock, who was it that said, good things come to those that wait

The PL having any sort of ‘secret meetings’ behind the back of other member clubs is surely almost resignation tier scandal if true.

Are you unhappy with this behaviour from the Premier League?
YES
NO
So, as can be seen from these Toon supporters’ tweets, plenty of the club’s fans certainly aren’t happy about the Premier League’s reported behaviour.
