Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to a Twitter post from Miles Starforth of the Shields Gazette in which he relayed some recent quotes from Steve Bruce regarding Miguel Almiron.
When he faced the media ahead of the club’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers which will take place at Molineux on Sunday, he provided an update on the Paraguayan who was a late substitute in the defeat versus Manchester United last weekend, here is what he had to say:
“He didn’t play at the weekend because he’d just got off the plane [from international duty]. I know Almiron very, very well. He’s a top, top player. I’m sure he’ll have a big part to play.” (as per the Chronicle Live).
What did the St. James’ Park faithful make of Steve Bruce’s update on Miguel Almiron?

Should Miguel Almiron start at Wolves on Sunday?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that these Newcastle United supporters are unhappy with the way Steve Bruce has been using Almiron of late. Although the 26-year-old has appeared in four of Newcastle’s five Premier League games so far this season, he has only started 20% of the time (as per Transfermarkt).
Following the criticism Bruce has received with regards to his decisions involving Almiron, it will be interesting to see whether the forward will feature from the start at Wolves this coming weekend.
