A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which includes a link to an article in the Shields Gazette about the legal challenge from the Newcastle Consortium Supporters Ltd group against the Premier League over the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The group sent a Letter Before Action to the league demanding access to all correspondence from the Premier League around the time that the takeover bid from PCP Capital Partners, PIF and the Reuben brothers was in the hands of the Premier League.
The story was first reported earlier in the week by Liam Kennedy and he has followed up that first article with a new one revealing a few more details.
The key point seems to be that the Premier League must reveal all and open their books to the Newcastle Consortium Supporters and their legal team, or this will go to court.
This has drawn these Toon fans’ attention, who feel confident.
So, what did these Newcastle fans think of this news?
These 2 guys have been planning this since the PIF walked id be very surprised if they don’t follow through with this as they’ve stated they have good backing behind them.

Or they approve the #nufctakeover and it all goes away!

“And the next few weeks could well prove to be some of the most crucial in Newcastle United’s recent history.

Do you think this will lead to anything?
Yes, it will finally give us closure, one way or the other
No, this will go nowhere
This legal challenge has the backing of Mike Ashley, along with potential investors Jamie Reuben and Mehrdad Ghodoussi. Both Reuben and Amanda Staveley’s husband, Ghodoussi, retweeted the story as it broke, so it looks like this challenge has the backing of some important figures on both the buying and selling side.
This post continued to draw the attention of many Newcastle fans.
This “significant legal team” wouldn’t happen to include Nick DeMarco QC & Shaheed Fatima QC by any chance would it? Asking for 52,000 friends! #NUFC #NUFCTakeover

What happens if they don’t open their books?? Or delay the process?? It seems obvious to me that it will not be as quick as some people may think!!

Something about this whole legal challenge just doesn’t make sense to me…

The Premier League has until Tuesday to respond to the letter, or this will go to the next step, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
What is clear, though, is that many Newcastle fans feel positive about this latest development.
