A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Lee Ryder that contains comments from Steve Bruce after he watched his side lose 4-1 to Manchester United.
The Toon boss claimed that his side are a ‘work in progress‘ and that he and his staff have ‘tried to change‘ before finally stating that the loss to the Red Devils ‘looks worse than it really was.’
These comments from Bruce have annoyed these Toon fans who see no signs of progress.
So, what did these Toon fans think of Steve Bruce’s comments?
Can you see Bruce's point?
No, he has had enough time now
Yes, he just needs more time
Hahahahaha. Work in progress. pic.twitter.com/xjPSga5OfH

Last year was all about Rafa. This year is all about ‘work in progress’. Sadly we know how this ends….

That is infuriating. How much time does he think he needs?! He’s been there 18 months. Rafa had an impact in 3 games!!

Bruce took charge of the Toon in July 2019, and here we are in October 2020, and the former Aston Villa manager is still claiming that his side are a ‘work in progress.’
While he has been manager of Newcastle, the Toon have spent just over £100m on transfer fees, so it is not like he hasn’t been backed in the transfer market.
However, the Toon sit in 12th place, ahead of Monday’s fixtures, and are into the Carabao Cup quarter-final, so on that basis, they are not doing that badly.
Despite this, though, these Newcastle fans are not happy with these comments from Bruce.
I genuinely can’t defend him anymore, that performance was beyond disgraceful.

Same complete drivel every time we lose a match! Every. Single. Time.

The Red Devils might have scored their final three goals late on but for Bruce to say that the defeat looks worse than it was is bizarre considering Manchester United had 28 shots, with 14 on target, and Karl Darlow also had to save a penalty.
So, the scoreline was probably a reflection of how the game went, and we understand why these Toon fans are annoyed by these comments from Bruce.
