Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Lee Ryder discusses the club’s recent link with Manchester United defender, Phil Jones.
According to Ryder, ‘no loan approach’ has been made by Newcastle for Jones, as has been recently suggested, however, the journalist also states that Steve Bruce is ‘not ruling out loan deals in general’ over the remainder of the summer transfer window.
After Ryder shared this post on Twitter, fans of Newcastle flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing delighted at the news that their club are apparently not interested in the defender.
Why would we even consider Jones????

Long may that continue.

Since joining Manchester United from Blackburn Rovers in what was a £17.37 million deal back in 2011, Jones has gone on to feature 224 times for the club, chipping in with six goals and providing 10 assists along the way, prior to the club’s fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening.
However, last season, the former England international featured just eight times in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, leading to speculation that he could be leaving the club over the summer transfer window, with Newcastle touted as a potential destination for the £6.3 million-rated 28-year-old.
Would you be happy to see Jones join Newcastle on loan?
Yes
No
Although, after Ryder’s recent tweet, it would appear that the Magpies will not be making a move for the defender over what remains of the transfer window, something which has seemingly pleased many of the club’s fans.
He’s actually terrible

Comedy show get Bruce out of this club. We are a laughing stock and he has made us far worse than what we were under Rafa. Bruce is the most negative manager I have ever seen.

All in all, it would seem the overwhelming majority of these Newcastle fans are glad to hear the news that their club will not be making a move for Jones, as many appear to have doubts about the player’s ability, while others have been left furious at the idea of Bruce even considering bringing the defender to the club in the first place.
