A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Keith Downie that contains comments from Steve Bruce ahead of the Toon’s Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Sky Sports man relayed comments from the Toon’s boss in which he claimed that the criticism he has received is ‘unjust‘ and that ‘everybody is a manager’ these days.
It is fair to say that these comments have not gone down well with many Toon fans who can’t believe what they are hearing.
So, what do these Newcastle fans make of Downie’s post?
Are you annoyed by these comments?
Yes, can't believe what he is saying
No, he is right
There is no beauty in it

The criticism he gets is deserved though, absolutely clueless

It’s not unjust!!! Look at the way you set us up! Joke man

Legitimately cannot stand him.

Bruce the plastic NUFC fan spouting this utter nonsense out makes us fans look deluded but the real truth which never gets media attention is Bruce is not a very good prem manager and all stats prove this year after year!!!

If you look at the Toon’s points tally of seven from five league games, then you could argue that it isn’t that bad; however, in their last match against Manchester United, the Red Devils fired in 28 shots on goal, of which 14 were on target and left St James’ Park with a 4-1 win.
Earlier in the season against Tottenham Hotspur, Spurs fired in 23 shots on goal, of which 12 were on target, and only a last-minute penalty from a controversial VAR decision ensured that the Toon left North London with a point in a 1-1 draw.
So, it is clear that many Newcastle fans are not happy with the performances of their side, and they certainly weren’t happy with these comments from Bruce.
This isn’t just opinion, the stats are there to back these claims up. The ‘work in progress’ is 18 months in and it feels like we’ve regressed! 18 months in managerial timescales is generous.

Unfortunately for Steve the stats show the criticism is justified. No plan, no tactics, lost players playing awful, directionless football. If it’s a process then it’s taking time

It is clear that many Newcastle fans are now sick of Bruce, and many feel that since he arrived in July 2019, there has been no progress.
In our view, the only thing he can do in response to this criticism is to beat Wolves on Sunday.
