On the latest episode of The Rumour Review podcast, Pete O’Rourke was joined by football agent Jamie Holsgrove to discuss the latest transfer rumours in the Premier League.

One topic of discussion on the podcast was Manchester United’s long-standing interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the England international throughout the window but it seems as if the two sides are a fair way apart when it comes to negotiating a fee for the 20-year-old (per Sky Sports).

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

Here’s what Holsgrove had to say about United’s interest in the winger during the podcast:

“I believe, from speaking to my contacts in the industry that, they’ve agreed terms in principle.

“The agent’s fee has been agreed in principle. So, it’s between the two clubs now of who’s going to pay what who wants.”

TIF Thoughts…

From what Holsgrove suggests, Sancho has agreed to join United and the agent’s fee has been agreed upon, so now it is just down to the two clubs to decide on an appropriate fee for the winger.

This would seemingly be an exciting claim for supporters of the Red Devils as it would suggest that there has been positive discussions behind the scenes.

Considering the former Manchester City man is currently valued at £105.3 million by Transfermarkt, their reported asking price of £108 million does not seem unreasonable, but at the moment it seems as if the Old Trafford outfit are unwilling to match that price.

Do you think United will sign Sancho before the deadline?

Considering Sancho contributed an incredible 17 goals and 16 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, averaging a superb 7.64 rating (per Whoscored), you can certainly argue that he would be worth the hefty fee, so it will be interesting to see if United make an improved offer before next week’s deadline.
