This comes after Addison recently made an appearance on the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast where he spoke about the latest goings-on at the club.

First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

On the subject of Grujic, who had been linked with a move away from Anfield throughout the recent summer transfer window, Addison had this to say on the matter after he was ultimately unable to leave.

He said: “It’s just a really strange situation for him. At the age of 24, I think he needed a permanent move. I think at the very least, he now needs to go out and find some football somewhere, because otherwise, he’s going to be a 24-year-old filling up one of the three over-age slots that you’re allowed to play in the U23s.

“It’s just such a waste, to be honest, of his time, I think he’ll be frustrated. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a little bit unhappy.”

Liverpool signed Grujic back in January 2016 from Red Star Belgrade for a fee of £6.3 million. Since then, the midfielder has had loan spells at Cardiff City, Hertha Berlin and a temporary return back to Red Star soon after joining Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Overall, the 24-year-old has made a total of just 16 appearances for the Liverpool senior team, in which he has managed to score one goal and provide one assist.

Grujic’s latest appearance for Liverpool came in their fourth-round Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal, in which the Liverpool Echo gave the midfielder a decent match rating of 8/10.

TIF Thoughts…

With Grujic not managing to leave the club during the recent summer transfer window and the fact that Liverpool currently have a lot of players in their squad at their disposal that can play in the central-midfield position, it’s no wonder Addison thinks Grujic could be unhappy if he’s not likely to be playing regularly.
